We enjoyed a quiet Christmas morning with Grandpa and Grandma Liz.

A neighbor was kind enough to take pictures of us and Zach for our Christmas card pictures for work and for our family. Zach enjoyed playing with all the clogs.

Why aren't mustaches still in style??

I don't mean to toot my own horn or anything, but snagged a pretty hot man. These pictures were taken today... Why aren't mustaches still in style?? Oh, wait, now I remember...because they are CREEPY!! JJ grew out his beard for a few weeks and couldn't take it anymore and shaved this morning. But to freak me out, he kept the mustache for a few hours. Gross!!!

A penny saved...

Either my son is extremely talented and made some change, or else the ER doctor didn't measure the coin in the x-ray correctly. Thursday morning we found a penny not a nickel in his diaper.

Zach's Unique Piggy Bank

It had been a nice relaxing Thanksgiving so far, and we were enjoying spending time with JJ's parents. Zach was busy exploring my diaper bag while I was gabbing away in the kitchen. Suddenly I heard him let out a cry and knelt next to him. He had a penny in his hand and a very confused look on his face. Then he started making really loud swallowing noises and I realized my little garbage disposal had finally swallowed something he really shouldn't have. He started crying and JJ and I ran out of the house to the ER 15 minutes before the rest of the family was coming and dinner would be starting. 5 minutes after we started driving he had stopped crying and took his binky. 15 minutes later we are sitting in the waiting room and he was ready to get down and play. Then, as you can see in the pictures, he enjoyed himself more than most during a trip to the emergency room on a holiday. After an x-ray, they were able to measure and determine in was a nickel. If it had been a quarter, we would have been off to the children's hospital. The treatment: yes, you guessed, wait for it to come out the other end...and, keep checking till we see the goods.

Halloween

So I am still trying to figure this thing out and the picture of JJ is in the wrong place, but I can't figure out how to move it and he needs to be included. Check out Zach's Scary Spider candy bag.

I wonder how long it will take until I don't get to choose his costume any longer? I knew he would look good as a redheaded froggy. If I had really planned ahead I would have been a princess and he could have been my frog prince. My other idea was to get a black top hat and cane and have him sing "Hello my darlin', hello my sweetheart, hello my ragtime gal" Anyone besides my sister know what I am talking about? Classic Looney tunes. I wonder how many good ideas I am going to come up with for my kids that never materialize. Hmm...

My weak attempt at being Pippi Longstocking. JJ asked if Pippi had a boyfriend. I told him "no" of course, but that she did have a Monkey, a horse, and you know something was going on between Tommy and her. Our house isn't quite as cool as Villa Villekulla and my dad is definitely not a pirate. Did you know Pippi's full name is Pippilotta Delicatessa Windowshade Mackrelmint Ephraimsdaughter Longstocking?

People kept complementing us on our pumpkins. Now we are going to have to step it up every year.

Don't worry, he is just eating the box. JJ already ate all the Nerds. We hadn't had nerds in awhile. Nerds are good. I was so worried about running out of candy, and had heard that it is trick or treating mayhem in Daybreak, so I bought 3 huge costco bags of candy and then on Halloween I bought a back up bag from Target. I only needed 2 of the bags from Costco. Oops...
